At the LINE DANCE WORKSHOP, we teach Armenian line dances. We review the most
common dances like the Armenian Shuffle,
Michigan Hop,
Misirlou and
Tamzara. We also teach
less-common but more
authentic line dances like Bijou,

At the DOUMBEK CIRCLE, we play rhythms played at the Armenian parties. It is
an informal session where more experienced players lead and the others follow.
We have some extra doumbeks so you don't need a doumbek to join us (but please
bring your own if you have it). The experienced players also teach some simple
tricks depending on your level. Drumming is one of the most fun activities, come
and try it, you will love it. We may also try singing some
simple songs like Karoun Karoun. Here is a short video clip
from one of the doumbek sessions, where some of the participants are singing
Karoun Karoun. Unfortunately, you can't see everybody in the video but there are
around 5 to 10 people playing/singing.
At PARTY TIME, we play CDs and dance. Also, we play our doumbeks
while the music is playing. It's a fun time where we get to use what we have
learned during the doumbek circle and the line dance workshop. Depending on the
mood we might play different kinds of music, like Greek, Arabic and even
Spanish.
Our workshops are very casual, so just stop by even if you
are not interested in dancing or drumming. Just come and make some new friends
and feed your Armenian spirit.
